The State of Qatar participates in the Pledging Conference for the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism for Syria

HE stressed that the State of Qatar, out of its legal, moral and humanitarian responsibilities, has supported various international efforts to counter the impunity of all perpetrators of violations and crimes in Syria. These efforts culminated in UN General Assembly Resolution 248/71 submitted by the Principality of Liechtenstein and the State of Qatar establishing the International Mechanism to assist in the investigation and prosecution of persons responsible for the most serious crimes committed in the Syrian since 2011, he added


The State of Qatar expressed grave concern at the violations, arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance practiced by the Saudi authorities

At the UPR of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar's Delegation called on the Saudi Arabia to immediately lift the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the State of Qatar, to ensure that all Qatari citizens have the right to practice religious rites in Hajj and Umrah without any discrimination on the ground of their nationality and to remove all barriers placed in their way, to put an end to arbitrary detention, ensure the safety of detainees, and to reveal their place of detention and inform them of the charges against them, in addition to ensuring their right to access to justice and fair trial and the immediate release of all detainees without legal justification.
