HE the Assistant Foreign Minister expressed the State of Qatar's aspiration for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to act seriously in combating the phenomenon of Islamophobia, and to take a clear and frank position on the incidents of burning the Holy Quran in a number of European countries, as a phenomenon that constitutes hate speech

HE Assistant Foreign Minister expressed regret that the world is witnessing once again, at a time when it is going through grave challenges that require solidarity and encouragement of harmony between cultures, civilizations and followers of different religions, an incident that expresses disgusting intolerance, represented in the burning of the Holy Quran.

HE Assistant Foreign Minister discussed with Secretary-General of the (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and OIC,

He the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to redouble its efforts to support the Yemeni economy, rebuild basic facilities and infrastructure, continue to support the provision of aid and services, preserve its institutions, and enhance its social cohesion and ability to face crises, such as food insecurity and the spread of diseases.

H.E the Permanent Representative underlined that: “thanks to Qatar National Vision 2030, which supports the dialogue of civilizations and promotes intercultural and interfaith coexistence, the State of Qatar is now home to a large number of people of different faiths and religions from more than 100 different nationalities so that they live together in peace and harmony”

The State of Qatar called on all Libyan partiers to overcome controversial issues and achieve a consensual constitutional framework leading to presidential and parliamentary elections, end the country's conflict and bring about national reconciliation.

H.E. Dr. Hend Abdalrahman Al-Muftah presented her credentials as Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva

The State of Qatar noted that despite the progress made over the past decade in implementing the "United Nations Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity", endorsed by the United Nations Chief Executives Board 10 years ago, media workers continued to be killed, arrested, attacked and intimidated

The State of Qatar has been keen to adopt an integrated approach at the national level to preserve the environment and address climate change, which takes into account the need for environmental sustainability and the preservation of the rights of current and future generations.

The State of Qatar called on the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression to focus in future reports on the negative impact of spreading false and misleading news and hate speech, especially on the Internet, taking into account the information provided by governments and all concerned parties in this regard, and conducting a constructive dialogue om the matter
