HE Mr. Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar in Geneva, and HE Mr. Michael Moller, Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, launched on 25 September 2018 renovation of Conference Room XIX at the Palais des Nations, based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office at Geneva

On this occasion, HE Ambassador Al Mansouri said that Qatar's contribution to the renovation of Conference Room XIX , one of the largest rooms in the Palais des Nations will provide an efficient, secure and fully available working environment for global conferences in the coming decades, thus contributing to the realization of the United Nations Strategic Heritage Plan, which aims to fully renovate the Palais des Nations in Geneva by 2023.

For his part, the Director-General of the United Nations Office expressed his thanks and deepest gratitude to His Excellency the Ambassador and to the State of Qatar for this generous donation, stressing that the Conference Room XIX will provide all necessary conveniences for participants in the meetings, especially in light of the expected increasing number of meetings to be held in the future in Palais des Nations in Geneva.
