The State of Qatar comments on adopted resolutions at the the HRC 46th Session

1- The State of Qatar welcomes the adoption of resolution No. L.24 entitled "The human Rights Situation in the Syrian Arab Republic" underlining the objectivity and balance of this resolution, as it strongly condemns all violations and abuses of international law and emphasizes the need to hold all those responsible accountable. The State of Qatar also expresses its hope that this resolution would enhance efforts to achieve a UN-led political solution that meets the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people.

2. Qatar also welcomes the adoption of resolutions L.16, L.18, L.30 and L.31, on the Human Rights Situation in Palestine and Other Occupied Arab Territories and affirms the importance of these resolutions to express condemnation and to document continuing  serious violations and crimes by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinian people, as well as to condemn the settlement practices in violation of international law.

3- In addition, the State of Qatar also values the initiative to merge the two draft resolutions on access to Covid-19 vaccines submitted by Azerbaijan on behalf of the NAM Group and Ecuador into one draft resolution number L.25/Rev.1, and its adoption without a vote. In this respect, the State of Qatar affirms that the way out of this epidemic crisis requires strengthening of international solidarity and cooperation and taking the necessary measures to ensure that everyone has access to safe, effective and affordable vaccines in an equitable and fair manner.
