The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar in Geneva delivered a statement at the Interactive dialogue on the report of the High Commissioner on findings, conclusions and recommendations of the Group of Independent Eminent Experts on Yemen in which the Permanent Mission expressed the State of Qatar’s deep concern about the content of report concerning violations and crimes against the Yemeni people, such as arbitrary detention and enforced disappearances, torture, degrading treatment, rape and abuse of human dignity as well as violations of freedom of expression and recruitment of children . All this happened in the absence of accountability and impunity for those responsible.
The Permanent Mission called for further efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people and the continuous humanitarian access to them.
The Permanent Mission also stressed the importance of ensuring the protection of civilians, justice and accountability for all human rights violations in the country.
