The State of Qatar underscores the importance of concerted efforts at the regional and global levels to find a just solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with Geneva I and full implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 2254 to put an end to the suffering of Syrian people, achieve their legitimate aspirations, ensure safe, dignified, and voluntary return of refugees, as well as safeguard Syria's unity and territorial integrity

The State of Qatar pointed out that the Social Security Law of 1995, along with other decisions and laws, stipulated clear rights of women in the retirement and pension system, housing services and others

The State of Qatar urged all countries and warring parties to refrain from using schools for military purposes, ratify and implement the Safe Schools Declaration

Dr. Hend Abdulrahman Al Muftah, the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar in Geneva, emphasized in her opening speech on this occasion Qatar's belief that sport is an effective tool for promoting human rights, peace, sustainable development and strengthening social bonds.

The State of Qatar reiterated its strong condemnation of the systematic violations perpetrated by the Israeli forces and Israeli settlers against Palestinian activists, human rights defenders and journalists through immoral and illegal acts such as prolonged administrative detention and intimidation during interrogation and torture and criminalizing the Palestinian civil society's organizations and their members by branding them as "terrorists", ramping pressures on donors to cut off funding and support sources, as well as detaining members of civil society's organizations arbitrarily and forcibly transferring them from the occupied Palestinian territory and cancelling residence permits in East Jerusalem which pose flagrant violations against international human rights law and international humanitarian law and are considered crimes under international law.

She State of Qatar renewed its strong condemnation of the grave violations by the Israeli occupation forces and the crimes they commit against the Palestinian people as well as the continuation of the aggression against Palestinian cities and regions that led to fallen martyrs and injured, called on the international community to act urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, obligate Israel to stop its flagrant violations of international law, and compel it to respect the resolutions of international legitimacy.

Her Excellency Dr. Hend Abdulrahman Al Muftah stated that the State of Qatar had called on the caretaker government to reconsider its decisions and stressed the importance of respecting the rights of Afghan women and strengthening their role and empowerment in various fields.

H.E the Permanent Representative affirmed that hosting the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) last March constituted another great opportunity to renew global solidarity with the least developed countries.

H.E. Dr. Hend Al-Muftah stressed that the recent opening of the UN House in Doha resembles a significant step to promote the existing partnership between the State of Qatar and the UN organization and its specialized offices, agencies, and funds

The State of Qatar called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by obliging Israel to respect the resolutions of international legitimacy.
