The State of Qatar stressed the importance of preventing discrimination against women and enabling them to play an active role in society, and the need to ensure the occurrence of an investigation and accountability, as well as provide aid for those who are affected.

Mrs. ​Juhara ALSUWAIDI reiterated the State of Qatar's affirmation to continue its steadfast position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause, until they regain all their legitimate rights and establish their independent and fully sovereign state based on 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.

HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized before the Human Rights Committee that the State of Qatar considers the process of reviewing the reports by treaty bodies a valuable opportunity for proper assessment and analysis of the State's conditions in order to continuously improve its internal practices in the field of human rights

HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of fully complying with all commitments contained in the international instruments concerned with nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation, and renewed the State of Qatar's commitment to work with the international community for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons and the achievement of regional and international peace and security.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani stresses, before the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the need to commit to the Charter of the United Nations and the established principles of international law, including obligations under the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means, to refrain from the threat or use of force, and to adhere to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of States.

The State of Qatar expresses hope that the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries, to be held in Doha from 23 to 27 Jan. 2022, be an opportunity for these countries to strengthen their capacities to confront the Covid pandemic challenges and restore their resilience and recovery.

During the UN Interactive Dialogue with the Fact-Finding Mission on Libya at the Human Rights Council's 48th Session, the State of Qatar affirms its support for the Government of the National Unity, the Presidential Council, the Political Process, and expresses hope for free and fair elections to meet the Libyan people's aspirations.

During the Interactive Dialogue with the Independent Expert on Human Rights Situation in Somalia, the State of Qatar reiterates its support for the Somali people as well as continued humanitarian and development assistance together with the political support to ensure the country's sovereignty and unity.

During the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue on the Sudan, at the 48th Session of the Human Rights Council, the State of Qatar reiterates its firm support for the Sudan's stability and legitimate aspirations of its people for peace, justice and development.
